Associate Director/Director, Translational Biology

We are seeking a talented and highly-motivated scientist to join our Translational Biology Research group. Our team is dedicated to the exploration of target biology and drug mechanisms. This position will direct in vitro immunology activities, focusing on the use of primary cells to understand the role of our target molecules in immune biology and to elaborate on the means by which our drug candidates modulate the immune system. Prior drug development experience in immunomodulatory biologics is required. The candidate is expected to have deep knowledge of immune-related disease biology and up-to-date expertise in immunology research methodology and technology.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Direction of a team of scientists to design and perform primary immune cell in vitro assays to support target validation and drug development
  • Possible leadership of cross-functional program teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in immunology (or closely-related field)
  • 8+ years of postdoctoral industry experience, including at least 6 years in immunology-related protein therapeutics
  • Expertise in in vitro assay systems based on primary immune cell biology, including assays utilizing human cells
  • Relevant technologies include high-parameter flow cytometry, ELISA, Incucyte, and Luminex
  • Experience directing research activities during the IND-enabling phase of biologic drug development
  • Detail-oriented and analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a team-oriented, matrixed environment
